Ayres Studio 4 Day Summer Workshop, July 17-20 2008
Locust Grove, Ok, July 17-20,
$200 for 4 days (or $100 for 1 day) materials included.

                            Monotype, Multiple Plate Drop Monotypes, Working with Ghosts,
                                Drypoint intaglio, and Photo Emulsion Spit Bite Printmaking

Thursday July 17: Warm up making free flowing basic monotype prints.  Develop the imagery further by adding multiple plate drops. Learn several methods on how to print the ghost imagery left on the plate.

Friday July 18: We develop a drypoint intaglio plate.  We print the plate.  Then we learn to combine the plate with monotype techniques to produce monoprints.

Saturday July 19: Learn how to develop a spit by image on photo emulsion film. This method avoids using the acids in traditional printmaking.  Discover the spontaneity this intaglio technique fosters.  Both line and tone are part of the imagery.

"Any Which Way Sunday" July 20;  Develop you imagery further by adding chine collé and multiple plate drops.  Before the workshop ends we review the work done by participants as we learn from each other's experiences.

Space will be limited.  Price is $100 a day or $200 for two or more days.  (In other words three and four days is also $200.)  Price includes all materials during class time.  Class time is 9:30 to 3 P.M. with either Gail, Julia or Both present.  Participants may continue working on their own after class time.
